Newsletter: Unlock Next Year’s Best Destintions

Your 2027 travel calendar is calling. Are you ready to answer?

Now is the time to ensure that 2027 is going to be your best travel year yet. Booking now for next spring, summer and yes, even next winter, ensures that your trip ticks every box you intend.

Europe: Eat, Drink and Explore

European destinations never disappoint and there is always more to explore across Europe. Italy is a perennial favorite. People always ask, when is the best time to go? The answer is: whenever you can get there because there is no off-season for pasta. Between the Lakes, the Dolomites, Puglia, Sicily, Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast, you could go every year and never repeat yourself.

An amazing escape to France can be all about history and wine. Walk the World War II beaches and memorials of Normandy in the morning, then raise a glass in some of the world’s great wine regions. It’s moving, meaningful and delicious, a true win-win.

In The Netherlands, we can build an itinerary on cheese and castles. Cheese lovers can taste their way through historic cheese towns and explore fairy-tale castles in between. Honestly, Gouda things are happening (sorry for the bad pun).

Southern Hemisphere: Two Bucket-Listers Are Calling

Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) offers a beautiful winter escape. Traveling to the Southern Hemisphere in December brings long summer days and perfect conditions for hiking, glacier viewing and exploring some of the world’s most dramatic landscapes.

Antarctica offers a rare chance to see an untouched frozen wilderness, with towering icebergs, penguin colonies and whales, all in the long daylight of a December expedition. This is one of the most extraordinary journeys on Earth. December offers extended daylight, abundant wildlife and ideal conditions for expedition cruising.

Game On: Build Your 2027 Travel on Amazing Sports Events

There’s something quite magical about experiencing a location through its beloved sports. Whether jaunting to a celebrated tournament or making a pilgrimage to the birthplace of the sport, it’s the perfect opportunity for a memorable getaway. Read on for some extraordinary upcoming sports-related trips.

February 14: Super Bowl LXI, Inglewood, California
Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Valentine’s Day. Truly the big game is just part of the trip. Events across the Los Angeles region will include NFL Honors, the Super Bowl Experience and Super Bowl Opening Night. I’ll custom craft your Super Bowl package, from top L.A. accommodations to your preferred tickets and hospitality at SoFi Stadium, plus pre-travel assistance. No matter which team you cheer for, experiencing a Super Bowl is a bucket list trip to plan!

April 30 – May 1: Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby, Louisville, Kentucky
The 153rd Kentucky Derby will be held May 1, 2027, at Churchill Downs, with the Kentucky Oaks on Friday, April 30. Tickets have been on sale since June and are selling fast. The Kentucky Derby packs more than a century of tradition into a single day: oversized hats, mint juleps and a crowd of more than 100,000 spectators for the roughly two-minute race. Even if you never place a bet, the people-watching, the pageantry and the chance to be part of one of America’s longest-running sporting events make it a trip worth taking.

June 14-20: US Golf Open, Pebble Beach Golf Links, Pebble Beach, California
Known as the toughest test in golf, The US Open pairs famous courses with narrow fairways and thick rough, so the drama comes from watching the world’s best grind to save par. Because it rotates among storied venues around the country, each year fans can pair it with a trip to a different destination like Pebble Beach in 2027.

July 11-18: British Open, The Old Course, St. Andrews, Scotland
Played on historic coastal links courses, The 155th Open returns to the sport’s most atmospheric setting at the birthplace of golf itself. With wind, rain and rugged terrain, the British Open makes for unpredictable play. Walking the grounds on a British summer day, pint in hand, feels like stepping into one of golf’s oldest traditions.

Don’t wait! Tickets, additional experiences and the best rooms for 2027 are already being snapped up. Travelers who plan now are the ones toasting on the terrace while everyone else is stuck on a waitlist.

2026 MICHELIN Hotels

The 2026 MICHELIN Key Hotels were recently announced, and of course, several favorites made the list. Here are a few picks that will leave a lasting impression on your travels:

Las Casitas, a Belmond Hotel, Peru – A stunning property in the heart of the Andes, with 20 cottages and offers of days spent hiking, riding and spotting wildlife across the peaks.

Borgo Santandrea, Italy – Experience the Amalfi Coast in luxurious Mediterranean style as you spend the days relaxing on a private beach and feasting on delicious coastal cuisine.

This fall, I’ve visited three U.S. properties that really impressed me and I always want to share some inside tips with you!

In New York City, The Mercer Hotel and The Fifth Avenue Hotel both wowed me with their luxurious approach and five-star service.

The Mercer, SoHo – Fresh off a refresh and still the ultimate downtown hideaway. Amid cobblestone streets, cast iron lofts and great shops, it embodies a calm, residential feeling.

Fifth Avenue Hotel – Just a happy gem with bold jewel-toned and art filled interiors. Don’t miss the Portait bar (this picture was taken there)! Cozy, gorgeous and serving fantastic craft cocktails. I loved The St. James – delicious! The bar is worth a visit even if you aren’t staying at the Fifth Avenue hotel.

The recently renovated Longboat Key Club – Sun, sand and something for everyone! This newly renovated resort pairs roomy one- and two-bedroom suites with a private white-sand beach, a fantastic marina, golf course and tennis courts. My insider tip: catch the sunset on the beach!
